Barber was one of the best pitchers ever to play at Blair. Like John Klippstein, he went straight from Blair to the major leagues, where he played for 15 years. He was the first 20-game winner in Baltimore Oriole franchise history, making the All Star team in 1963 and 1965. He was a member of the 1966 World Championship Oriole team.
