| Dear Montgomery Blair High School Alumni,
I am extremely proud and honored to invite you, your senior citizen family members, and elderly members of the community to what I hope will become an annual tradition at Montgomery Blair High School. “Swingin’ sounds for Senior Citizens” is a brand new service project of our Tri-M Music Honor society chapter and our two jazz bands. The goal of this program is to provide senior citizens from area nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and the community with a relaxed, casual, coffee house environment where they can hear (and possibly dance to) our jazz bands performing music from the big Band era. “Swingin’ Sounds for Senior Citizens” will take place in our Student Activities Center(SAC) between 2:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 19, 2012 (snow date march 4), so residents living in nursing homes or assisted living facilities can come after their lunch and be back before dinner. Vehicles can pull up close to the building and let guests out at the main entrance to the SAC, which is on the University Boulevard side of the building. To reserve tables and seating please let me know as soon as possible approximately how many elderly and other family members will be attending, as we will have to limit the number of guests to the capacity of the SAC. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. I teach classes most of the day, so e-mail is the easiest way to reach me. I hope to see you on Sunday, February 19! Sincerely, Michelle Roberts |
