Williams should know all about high performance schools. He went to the Banneker School in Washington, D.C., a school that attracted top students from across the city (similar to Blair’s magnet program). He went on to Hampton (VA) College, then came back to the area to teach. After teaching for several years, he became an Assistant Principal, first at Takoma Middle School and later at Springbrook. His career as a Principal started at Farquar Middle School, followed by the top job at Gaithersburg High. He was serving in that role when he got the call about the Blair opening.
